With just three races remaining in the AARN O’Reilly Series regular season, every point matters—and Monday night’s stop at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway delivered another critical chapter in the championship fight.
Christian Barnes continued his impressive season, leading 133 of 175 laps and scoring his third victory of the year in commanding fashion. Barnes swept the bonus points, earning points for the win, leading a lap, and leading the most laps, extending his advantage atop the standings.
While Barnes controlled the race, the battle behind him was anything but settled.
Zackery King continued his remarkable late-season surge with a second-place finish, marking another strong run after back-to-back victories earlier in the season. Chris Romano rounded out the podium in third and added valuable bonus points after recording the fastest lap of the race while finishing incident-free.
A Championship Battle Taking Shape
The race may have been won by Barnes, but several drivers made major moves in the playoff picture.
Dave W. Allen delivered one of the biggest performances of the night, finishing fourth and climbing into the final Chase transfer position. Allen now sits eighth in points and, more importantly, on the right side of the cut line with three races remaining.
Howard Peeples continued his consistent season with a fifth-place finish and remains firmly inside the playoff field.
Further back, trouble struck several drivers fighting for postseason spots. Shane Hatfield entered the night inside the top eight but slipped outside the cut line after falling to ninth in points. Gary May also lost ground, dropping to 13th and now facing a 33-point deficit to the final transfer spot.
