Ramsey Dominates at North Wilkesboro in Chaotic Race 5

Adam Ramsey controls the race from the front, leading 103 laps as the AARN Truck Series presented by Jam Coffee battles through a caution-filled night.

The fifth race of the AARN Truck Series season presented by Jam Coffee delivered a classic short-track battle at North Wilkesboro Speedway, where survival, discipline, and restart execution proved just as important as raw speed.

When the checkered flag waved, Adam Ramseystood atop the field after leading a race-high 103 of 156 laps, securing his second victory of the season and reinforcing his position as one of the top championship contenders.

The win came in a race defined by constant interruptions, with 16 cautions and 63 caution laps repeatedly resetting the field and testing every driver in the lineup.

Multiple Drivers Show Race-Winning Speed

While Ramsey ultimately controlled the race, several drivers showed the ability to compete near the front.

Dana Shepard, starting from the pole, saw his race take an early turn when he spun his tires on the initial start, immediately losing track position. Despite the setback, Shepard recovered well throughout the race, working his way back through the field to finish second.

Brian J Boyd delivered another strong and consistent performance, finishing fourth after starting sixth and continuing to establish himself as a regular front-runner.

Marc Bender2 also stayed in contention throughout the night, finishing fifth and maintaining track position despite the race’s frequent interruptions.

Ramsey Takes Control

From early in the race, Ramsey’s truck showed the pace needed to dominate.

After moving into the lead, he maintained control through both long runs and repeated restarts, a critical advantage on a night where the field was constantly being reset.

Even with multiple restart opportunities for challengers, Ramsey consistently executed cleanly, never allowing another driver to take command of the race.

Leading 103 laps, his performance stands as one of the most dominant of the season.

Chaos Defines the Field

Behind the leader, the race became a battle of survival.

With 16 cautions, drivers were forced into constant restarts and tight racing conditions, leading to heavy contact and high incident totals throughout the field.

Several drivers were able to capitalize on the chaos:

  • Douglas Scalice delivered one of the drives of the night, climbing from 14th to 3rd
  • Joseph Essenberg improved from 8th to 6th
  • Clifford Allison III advanced from 12th to 7th
  • Gary May gained a position to finish 8th

In a race where many struggled to stay clean, simply moving forward was a major accomplishment.

Hard Chargers

A few drivers made notable progress during the race:

  • Douglas Scalice: 14th → 3rd
  • Clifford Allison III: 12th → 7th
  • Joseph Essenberg: 8th → 6th

These runs reflected strong race management and the ability to take advantage of late-race opportunities.

Championship Momentum

With five races complete, the championship fight continues to evolve.

Ramsey’s ability to dominate a race while navigating constant restarts and chaos adds another layer to his season, proving he can win under any conditions.

At the same time, drivers like Shepard, Boyd, and Scalice continue to build consistency, ensuring the competition at the top remains tight.

A Different Kind of Test

North Wilkesboro presented a completely different challenge compared to previous races this season.

Instead of long green-flag runs, the race became a test of patience, discipline, and execution under pressure.

And on a night where many struggled just to survive, Adam Ramsey delivered total control—the defining performance of Race 5. 🏁
