DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Opening race delivers high expectations.

The inaugural race of the AARN Truck Series season kicked off under the lights at Daytona International Speedway, where drafting strategy, patience, and late-race positioning determined the outcome of the 70-lap event.

When the checkered flag waved, Howard Peeples captured the first victory in series history after a commanding performance that saw him lead the majority of the race.

Starting 2nd, Peeples quickly established himself as the driver to beat and went on to lead 60 of the 70 laps, controlling the draft and keeping the field organized behind him for most of the night. In the closing laps, Peeples held off a tight pack to secure the win and become the first winner in AARN Truck Series history.

Finishing just 0.082 seconds behindDaryl W. Johnson crossed the line in second place after a strong and consistent run near the front of the field. Johnson led 6 laps during the race and remained in contention throughout the event.

One of the biggest moves of the night came from Marc Bender, who climbed from 11th on the grid to finish 3rd, positioning himself perfectly in the draft during the final run to secure a podium finish.

Adam Ramsey delivered another strong performance, moving from 9th to finish 4th and briefly leading two laps during the race. Brian J. Boyd rounded out the top five, maintaining solid track position throughout the event.

Further back in the field, Gary May delivered one of the most impressive drives of the race, charging from 16th to finish 6th, gaining 10 positions — the largest gain of the night.
